synopsis for the southern california coast and santa barbara channel including the channel islands national marine sanctuary and national park...at 09z, or 2 am pdt, a 1030 mb high was centered 800 nm west of point conception. A 1008 mb thermal low was located in western arizona. Strong to gale force nw winds and dangerous choppy seas will affect the outer waters for much of the time into the middle of the week, frequently spreading into the northern inner waters and the western portion of the santa barbara channel.
